| HandyLab, Inc is dedicated to the development, manufacture and sale of novel diagnostic products based on its patented and proprietary microfluidic, miniaturized real time PCR, and nucleic acid extraction technologies. HandyLab’s target markets include hospital and clinical reference laboratories. Although the Company also plans to leverage its technology through strategic distribution partnerships for other markets, including agriculture, food, water, biological agent and other industrial nucleic acid testing opportunities. The company focuses on applications requiring a high degree of sensitivity, specificity and speed in testing capabilities. HandyLab's microfluidic systems use only nanoliters of reagents, making it a cost-effective alternative to traditional laboratory testing. In addition, the disposables can be manufactured inexpensively and used to perform a wide variety of bio-assays. Designed to automate complex sample preparation, minimally-skilled personnel can perform tests and analysis on raw clinical specimens in 40-60 minutes. The HandyLab Systems are automated and semi-automated real time microfluidic nucleic acid instruments intended for use in the clinical diagnostic market. The Company is developing a line of nucleic acid testing systems comprised of bench top analyzers and proprietary reagents and consumables. These systems intend to reduce the time, complexity and cost of nucleic acid testing while simultaneously improving the quality of results for infectious disease, genetic and other molecular diagnostic tests. HandyLab’s strong intellectual property position in microfluidic technology will give the company a unique position in the clinical diagnostic market. Real time technology coupled with HandyLab’s microfluidics will result in efficient laboratory nucleic acid test practices. This unique technology assists clinical personnel in seeing their patients, running a diagnostic test and treating their patients before they leave the medical facility. As a result of these benefits, the Company expects to capture significant share of the rapidly growing IVD molecular diagnostic market. |
